gents,
can't find any threads on this exactly so here we go. anyone ever add reverse lights to a 65 v-100, 225, auto 3 speed column shifter? new sockets and bulbs installed, the purple wire goes from the bulbs to the connector behind the driver side kick panel but it ends there. no wire meets it from the other side. clearly i have to add wire but where does it come from?

and where is that damn "back up light switch". what am i missing?

cheers and happy sunday.

The back-up switch (if present) will be down at the end of the steering column near the firewall plate. It gets it's power from the wiper switch - that's a white wire from the wiper to one terminal on the switch; the other terminal has a purple wire that eventually gets to the back up lights themselves.

EDIT: I'll have to look but might have the back-up switch that I removed from another column.

thanks dartman.
i have to assume it's not present then. i've been under that dash a lot lately and the only thing coming out of my steering column is that little bundle of wires, none of which are purple.
