I am in the market for an adjustable timing light and found this one on Amazon. Seems like a good deal. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EVU8J8/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER"]Amazon.com: Equus 5568 Pro-Timing Light with Tool Case: Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41cxTsn9U1L.@@AMEPARAM@@41cxTsn9U1L[/ame] Has anyone had any dealings with this timing light or can they recommend a good one for around a hundred dollars.

or how about this one. It is about 30 dollars cheaper [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Actron-CP7529-Digital-Timing-Light/dp/B000BSY9JE/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top"]Amazon.com: Actron CP7529 Digital Timing Light: Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/4111W83GRZL.@@AMEPARAM@@4111W83GRZL[/ame]

I've been suffering with the same old Craftsman timing light for years, but a buddy finally melted the pickup on it so I got a new one>

I bought this deal for like $65.00:

I really like it. Xenon bulb so you can actually use it during the daytime (they may all be like this now as far as I know), metal pickup.

If I would have known how much I'd like this, I probably would have shelled out the full 100 to get the upgraded model that actually has a tach display on it and some other gee-whiz stuff.

My experiences are you get what you pay for. i had an atozone, sears, and some other brand, one of them had the total advance on it, they all were not accurate, my dad let me try his Snap On and it showed a difference between all of them, So i finally gave in and paid for a Snap on, problem is i should have bought the one with totla advance but my balancer is marked so it still works, if you have a high compression motor then get a good timing light, if its not so important to you then get a X-brand timing light. A Mac tool or a high end brand is the proper way to go.

This is the one I have. I have not compared it to anything else to see how accurate it is, but has worked good so far. Xeon bulb, so daytime use is good. It has an rpm readout that is accurate when compared to my tach. It can be advanced, but does not show total advance, but hell if you can add a couple two digit number, then you might be safe.

If somebody is looking for a higher end light, this one might be a viable option.

I bought the first timing light you showed from jegs this week, they price matched Amazons prices but only if it is new and the same part number, I bought a Holly HP 125 fuel pumpat the same time, both were price matched from Amazon, So if you are looking to buy more than just a timing light you can save some cash, I saved about 60.00 or 70.00 Dollars on this order.

I bought a Snap-On digital dial back from back in the day (1987 maybe?) for about $250 IIRC. I used it almost every day professionaly for 10 years and then just when working in my garage. It finally barfed in 2007 so I found a Snap-On dealer and had it rebuilt for another 100 bucks. Totally worth it.
