The previous owner of my car added a go-wing to it. The deck lid will not stay open from the additional weight of the wing so I have to prop it up with a 2 x 4. I read an article somewhere at one time that the trunk lid torsion spring rods (if that's what they are called) need to be re-positioned to account for the additional weight of the wing on the deck lid. Can someone please tell me (perhaps someone with an original go-wing Duster) what the positioning should be of the spring rods in the brackets they go into? A picture if anyone can post one would be appreciated. Also, what is the best way to go about repositioning the spring rods? I think it said in that same article that they can be difficult and perhaps dangerous to remove and reposition. Thanks in advance.

I used some pliers and a flat head screw driver to move mine. Took about 20 seconds.

On mine, the rod is currently in the hole furthest to the left (toward the front of the car) in your pic on both sides. Is that where your's originally was?

Thanks for sharing this question. I installed a wing on mine and was concerned because the deck lid will not stay open. Going to try moving mine to help..
