    Hi Guys:

Resto Mod Project is out and about, first few hundred miles being put on it waaay south of the border in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador.

Being just under 7K Feet altitude is always a carburetor issue and Edelbrock will only provide Tech Support over the phone....(unreal)

Anyway Gents - if any of you can provide some insight into how to best setup (Daily Driver RestoMod) - I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Here's some starting info:

318 with 1404 Edelbrock Carburetor + Edelbrock 2176 Performer Intake.

I have the Edelbrock 1486 Carb Tuning Kit - so I can use anything from it.

Many thanks and and/all advice or Setups welcome.

    TJ

Most people are happy to talk with "live" tech support.
Did you read the carb manual? If you don't have it, here's the link:
    http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/misc/tech-center/dl/carb-owners-manual.pdf
Page 9, High Altitude. Read the manual, follow directions, should not be too complicated. These carbs are generally easy to tune.
Looks like the 1486 kit should have what you need.
    Good luck.

You want to be 2% leaner for every 1500 feet of elevation.
Number 24 on page 18 of the edelbrock tuning guide is good starting point for you. Requires just a rod change. If you do not have access to a guide replace stock rods with #1440 in your kit(060 x 057).
Will be 8% lean after this.

Thanks! But I found number 24 on page 18 for a different carb..

Think #13 is a starting point.

Was thinking power mode not cruise so 13 will be a better starting point.
        Good luck
