My Duster has what I believe are called slotted rims made of aluminum. The two front rims are made by American Racing, the two back rims are another brand that I’ve long since forgotten. Is there a way to identify the manufacturer? Also, does anyone know of a business in the Pittsburgh area that can restore old rims? My car sat outside in California for about thirty years so the rims are a little rough, but I’d much rather restore them than replace them if possible. If nothing is available in the Pittsburgh area I suppose I can ship them out as well.

I did a Google search for aluminum wheel polishing in Pittsburgh and came up with Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist. They look to be around your area. You might look them up. Good luck

There is a guy in Monessen Pa south of the 'Burgh, about 30 minutes or so.
Don't have a number but it's Ricks Custom Polishing. He has been doing polishing for over 30 years and wheels is his specialty.Yelp might help.

what finish do you want?
bright, almost chrome, or dull?
the bright finish is achieved by polishing and tons of elbow grease

the dull finish might be achieved by an acid bath at your local truck stop

This is the guy that Darter is talking about. I talked to him about my trim but I ever followed up on it. He is always at the swap meet in SouthPark in spring. Covid cancelled it this year.
I saw another guy, works out of his pickup / trailer. I saw him at Bowser's body shop on 51 and the body shop in Elrama on 837.

Thanks for posting that. I’ll give him a call and see what he has to say.

I’d like them to look like they did when new. Not brightly polished, but not quite a satin finish either.
