American Classic or American Collectors?
I have American Collectors and have had nothing but fantastic service from them the two times I had to file a claim.

I just filed a claim for my original windshield on my 64 Dart GT and had zero problems! I had the work done and submitted my claim, and forwarded some pictures to them, and they promptly sent me a check to cover the entire cost.

What’s the criteria for both?

Stored indoors?

Driven to and from car shows?

I’m looking.

Don’t like them
Tried to get “under restoration “ coverage from them
They issued policy all stated numbers were incorrect played phone tag
3 months later they cancelled my policy car wasn’t up to their standards
WTF I sent pictures in
Argued for full refund.
Got it 2 months later
Good thing I documented every call and numbers

They asked if the car was stored in a garage, I told them yes. They never specified driving to and from car shows, or any other restrictions, that I am aware of. Of course if there were ever any dispute, you could always say that you were test driving after some work or change of parts. Or even on my way to parts store. They asked me for a insured amount for my car and I told them $35,000.00 they never questioned and never asked for pictures, other than when I just filed my glass claim.

i have american collectors. seem good to me. haven't needed to put a claim in yet though.

They must have changed. I had American Collectors for 2 Years about 25 years ago. The only thing I didn't like was that I was not allowed to ever drive it to work (even just once on a nice spring day) or leave it unsupervised (like going into a store or a restaurant).

they told me i could exercise mine but driving to work once in a while.

I have American collectors insurance, I was told I can only drive my Charger on Sundays, to car shows, and parades. My agent told me every time I drive it, I’m parading it.

One thing I've learned about insurance is that what an agent says doesn't mean squat when it comes to filing a claim. All that matters is what the policy docs say. Here's what my old American Collectors policy said about pleasure use. There's more, but you get the gist.

But isnt that what we do when we drive our cars, operating it for pleasure? That is what I get out of it, being retired I am not driving it to or from work. When I take it out for a drive I am doing so because I get pleasure from that. And 9 times out of 10 when I'm driving I feel like I am in a parade with all the people waving at me!
