Hopefully, my last body related question...

The car is a 75 Dart Sport, 72 doors and 72 front clip. I need a driver's side metal splash shield. So, which shield do I buy? Duster/Demon, Dart Sport, Swinger, Scamp?

Thanks guys.

And - I apologize for my ignorance on such things. My gut tells me any of the Duster styled bodies would be a good donor, but experience tells me I am aware of what I don't know. :)

I would be looking for a 70-72 Dart or Demon. Not sure about the dusters. I think the newer stuff has a bulge or something that the older ones don't have. I had a set from a '73 Dart (not sport) and they were different than the ones on my Demon.

So, like from a "regular" Dart, like the Swinger?

Any 67-72 Dart fender style will work, Duster/Valiant are different, they have a stand-off to attach to that style of fender. The later Darts were plastic...

And just FYI, the later plastic splash shields will fit the earlier fender just fine, but only if they’re from a ‘73-76 Dart or Dart Sport.

Dart/Demon/Dart Sport fenders can use the splash shields off of any Dart/Demon/Dart Sport regardless of year 67-76. But no mixing and matching with Valiant/Duster fenders.

I'd like to thank you all, sincerely, for your help. Not one snide remark, or how much of a noob I am. :) It's greatly appreciated.

all the Dodge A bodies share this part in a specific year, All the Plymouths share this part in a given year. The real question is why you would not use the later model plastic shield - weighs less and never rusts...

Not true. A hardtop Dart and a 2 door Dart coupe from the same year can’t interchange doors. And a Dodge Demon and a Plymouth Duster from the same year have the same exact doors. And Barracuda doors don’t interchange with anything.

The later doors with the plastic upper door panels also have a door impact beam, and are substantially heavier than the earlier doors with the metal upper interior panel.
Ummmm...
The conversation is about fender inner splash shields, not doors...
