I bought a 1997 Chrysler town and country 3.3 a year or two ago for $200 bucks. It needed a little work but nothing too major. I ended up blowing the trans all over the road. (pin let go and destroyed the case) So now I'm on the hunt for another. plan on using my other one as a parts rig.

I love driving an old mini van.

Most of the time we drive our 2017 Grand Caravan - we’ve had a 97 and a 2014 and all are great vehicles

Those are the BEST incarnation of the minivan.

TONS of driver comfort/room, tons of cargo room, easy to walk around inside, decent power and great MPG for the year.

2nd is the current version with slightly lees of everything of mentioned except they have 300 HP and get the same or better MPG!

We don't own one but have rented them a few times for family vacations out of state. They're great for hauling the family around and comfortable on the long haul and as mentioned easy to move around in. We love our road trips in them!

We had a couple throughout the years. Some of the best driving and riding vehicles I have ever owned.

Comparing our 2017 Grand Caravan with our 93 Dakota, the Dak drives like an antique. Oh wait, it is an antique - 26 years old

I rent a Grand Caravan everytime we go out of town on vacation. My wife loves the room and comfort, but refuses to own one! She prefers an SUV, go figure. 65'

We bought this one as more of a test to see if we wanted a van. She fell in love with it and took it over the 2012 impala. Easier to load the kids. She bought a 2013 Town and country. I was going to drive the 97 as my daily but it took a poop.

I am on my third 2006 Town and Country, can't live without one! Good mileage, hauls a lot of parts, goes well in the snow! I drive it daily to keep the miles off my 2015 Ram 2500 4x4, which I now have 144K on...

I'd like to get a 2005-2007 with the stow n go. The only problem is they are so rusty around here. Plus I have a 96-97 parts interchange.

We got rid of our last one and bought my wife's grandama's Buick. :BangHead::wtf:
We had to rent one for a trip to Mississippi. Room for 5 adults and luggage. I think I got 25 mpg and drove it for hours before stopping for gas and a potty break. (and I could still stand up and walk) LOL

We had a 1987 Plymouth Voyager van and we have 2006 Town & Country. We plan on buying a new or almost new Caravan soon. We also have a 2015 Dodge Journey which we may trade to get the new Caravan. We like our Town & Country better than the Journey. We call them new girl and old girl☺

We rented a '15, then a '16 and then a '17 to drive from FL to NC, then drove around stop and go Ashville, and rural NC steep hills and twisties including some gravel roads hauling 7 adults, a commercial sewing machine and about 2 hundred pounds of clay plus all the adult's luggage.

The engine barely felt all that weight going up those hills, and we averaged 27 MPG for the whole trip!

IIRC we have a '16 VVT Flex-fuel with stow and go or Skep419's model (also the 3.8 one generation before it, looming trans issue forced a trade in on newest one.). Love em, but the latest 6-7 (?) sp trans is a little unnerving when its always shifting. We had a clunk into gear but they (Automax) paid to fix it, only $150 from Chrysler. I think it was a shim they had to adjust. Another thing that bugs me when I drive it (rarely) is the compression braking whenever I let off the gas...all the way down to 20mph, then it lets go. We had the trans flashed when we had the shim fixed but they said it was up to date. Does any other '16 driver feel the engine braking (dragging) in D letting off the gas in traffic? For a fuel efficient tranny design, I feel engine braking is counter-productive for gas mileage. It is a cruiser at highway speeds. will be driving it to Texas this summer. Captains chairs are nice for the kids, as well as the ability to walk back there while underway.

I still have a 2000 Caravan Sport AWD, it has 125,000 miles on it. Bought it for $3,000 five years ago.
It’s hard to live without one, so have always had one for the last 20 years.
The new ones are fantastic! But the 1996-2000 were one of the best vehicles in the world made at that time.

I was looking at one with all wheel drive but figured it was just one more thing to go wrong. Any problems with yours?

No problems - it’s fantastic in poor weather with good Michelin tires.
There was a noise coming from the back that I couldn’t figure out & was afraid it was the awd vicious coupling but it was a wiring harness rubbing on the drive shaft.
They didn’t make too many awd minivans and it was one of the great secrets of the auto industry thanks to Chrysler marketing.
The Chrysler minivans are really great and are hard to beat. But the awd makes a really special car.

I have a 2005 Caravan SXT with a 3.3 liter, it was given to me by a good friend in 2015. It had 120,000 on the odometer then, it has over 185,000 on it now & still gets 21-23 mpg on the highway. I've had no major issues or expenses, yet. I'm hoping to get 200,000 before it's time to retire it

Bought a 2003 grand caravan in 2006, it was great, hauled the kids and their friends around to sport events and trips! Ran awesome with minor repairs over the years. Sadly had to trade it in 2015, my wife wanted a suv.( kids are older and not as many trips.) She bought a Hyundai Santa Fe XL.(it's actually very nice to drive...we'll see how long it lasts!)

                              Had a 99 voyager given to me,needed a trans.
I used the 97 i had for parts and before that was a 92.
                              All 3.0L engines.
The 99 has a lot of miles, the trans in the 97 was updated/rebuilt before i got it,10k on trans.
99 has wicked heat, never gets stuck and starts at any temperature. My daughter has it,if she cant kill it, nobody can.

Wow, I am surprised Mopar loving men would admit to owning a mini van.

Had a Chevy buddy that always gave me a hard time, who said " I'll never drive a mini van". He borrowed mine for a weekend trip after his 2nd kid...guess what he's driving now! Grand caravan!!

I have a theory...mini vans always are speeding because the driver is embarrassed to be seen in one!
