I was cleaning up some today and found a complete spare shifter assembly. My Big Block is close to going in the car and I got to wondering about changing Valvebodies and remove the Bouchilion kickdown setup. Anyone made their shifter so it was fairly fail safe and if so pictures and description would be great. This a 72 setup with console.

Thanks,
JW

If you go reverse manual, no need for detent, it'll work perfect as is, it's failsafe, no need for throttle-pressure lever.
I've been using it in comp and street since '71.
Adding a detent, which is also fairly easy with a small piece of sheet metal.

That could be an option..... I ran a manual valve body on a daily driver a couple of decades ago and it didn't bother me in the least..... It's always good to get input from different people on something like this.....
