My 65 Valiant is a column shift auto and has the two cable style. I’m putting in a ‘66 904 with the single rod style. So I need a new column. I’m curious if anyone has used an aftermarket and how it looks in your early A. Show me some pics :)

Have you looked through the sale section here for a 1966 column shift? They’re out there and look better in my opinion.

Yeah, I’m leaning that direction actually. Just wondering how some other options would look.

No pics but I’m planning on using an 80/81 J Body floor shift column in my 65 Dart wagon. Why the J Body column? So the J Body underdash wiring harness will connect just like factory to the column connectors.

The wiring in my car was so ugly I yanked the entire wire harness out. There must have been a box worth of household wire connectors under the dash. I also want to go one-wire alternator and HEI dizzy. So I’ll be using a complete aftermarket wiring kit from Painless or the like. The thought of having a GM style turn signal switch connector doesn’t sound bad to me.
