Hey everyone, I’ve been doing some reading on Hemi swaps lately, I’d like to put a 6.4 in my Duster in a few years so I figure it can’t hurt to start researching now, right? Lol

Anyway, my plan is to buy a complete donor vehicle and use as much as I can. 6.4, 6 speed, seats, console, gauge cluster, 8.4” unconnect system, steering column, etc. heck, if I can make it work I might just swap the whole dash in.

So as the title says, has anyone here used the factory gauge cluster or any of the other stuff I’ve mentioned? And would it be possible to use all this stuff without having the ABS and some other things installed?

Thanks everyone, looking forward to ideas and hoping to learn.

It's tough, but I'm fairly sure it's been done. The biggest issue if you are basically making a whole new dash to make the factory cluster fit, so it's more than just dropping in some gauges. I've seen entire modern dashes grafted into old cars though. Keeps the look more consistent and the fit better in a way. You can do about anything you want with enough time and money.

Not sure how I thought this thread was a year and a half old 6 months ago. Lol.

Anyway, I was trying to find any info on this swap so I looked up info on Roadkill’s General Mayhem and found this hotrod article.
Secrets of Roadkill’s General Mayhem Hellcat Engine Swap
Here’s an excerpt from the article about the ABS/speedo.

“Next, we get into the electronics. The first step was messing around with the 2015 Charger before it was taken apart, disconnecting various devices to see what would and would not work. For example, the wheel-speed sensors can be disconnected and the car will operate perfectly, though you get a warning light and none of the traction or stability controls will function. It kills the speedo, too. But while wheel sensors can be unplugged, the car won’t run at all if you unplug the ABS controller. Therefore, the ABS unit is mounted into the General Mayhem and plugged in, even though it’s not doing anything.”

So going off that info, I believe it might be possible to use a tone wheel/wheel speed sensor setup like @Chuckbizkits (didn’t wanna further hijack your thread so I figured I’d post this info here) is using on his car to get the nag1 trans to function

Lucked out and got in contact with a guy who works at Cleveland Power & Performance on fb and he sent me some pics from cars that clients of theirs have built. He’s gonna email me a bunch more pics. I’m gonna have to pick his brain when the time comes to do the actual swap.
