Are 68 and 69 Door Latches Interchangeable?

Are 68 and 69 Door Latches Interchangeable?
I know the lock button are in different locations but isn't that just a longer lock rod?
Anyone here used the reproduction latches?

I'm not sure,and I know one of the know-it-alls will chime in. I think the 68 door latch can be locked while the door is open and then shut,and the 69 does not or vice versa.

No they are not interchangeable, I has a set that I bought for my 69

I don't see any aftermarket latch mechanisms for the 69 either. Does anybody rebuild or service these components ? Always forget which one of my doors i can use the key to lock and which one has to be locked from the inside.
