Are AGM batteries worth it?

I'm curious - do you have them in sealed boxes vented to outside the trunk compartment?
No. NHRA only requires that they be attached to the floor of the trunk using a certain thickness of bolts. That is if there is a wall between the trunk and passenger compartments. The fuel cell is vented to the outside and grounded.

I've had every type of battery be terrible/junk...or work well. I still have one of my original lead-acid, production-line batteries, in my dually. It was delivered to me in 11-2002.
Maintainers are the answer. If I'm not using anything for a couple weeks or longer, it gets a maintainer. My Hellcat and new 300C go dead in a couple weeks, from the 2-way communication/info systems.

I ended up picking up a Deka 9A34 at a local battery store for about 35% cheaper than Napa and Oreilly sell the same one for (with a different label). Time will tell how it turns out, but I'm happy knowing it comes with a 3-yr warranty and I know my local shop will take care of me.

Its funny cause I bought my vett in 86
Never had a battery last more the two years since new
But I have never put a maintainer on it either
And now I just put a battery in it when I want to drive it .......
But yes the main killer or batteries is letting them go low or over charging them

I reckon if you have a custom application where the battery is mounted like on the side or even upside down, the AGM certainly has advantages. And maybe in high vibration applications such as offroad and all that kinda thing. But I'd stick with lead acid for a street car.
