Are these ebay BBD carburetors any good?

That's not a BBD. That's a BBD "style" carburetor made in China. They are hit and miss. Might get a goodun. Might not.

And probably more not than good. A few on B and C Bodie have tried them with bad results.

I was thinking of putting a 2 barrel setup on my /6, are these new BBD carburetors on ebay any good, or are they more trouble than they are worth? If I did, I'd need an aluminum intake, the air cleaner, and the kickdown linkage for the 904.

New Carb For Chrysler Dodge Mopar 273-318 Engine 2 Barrel Carburetor 1966-1973 | eBay
I had good luck with one. I cleaned it before using it though and did the setting from my factory service manual. Been 2 summers now working great.

Lucky dog!

I also look at it this way. There may be some things that I will go cheaper on, but something as important as a carburetor is not one of them. Would you put a $50 Chinesium cam in your engine?

Plain and simply.....and not trying to get political......this is just the truth. Buying from China supports our adversary. We are already bombarded with overseas junk everywhere we turn.

had one of those on my '65 273 the first year I had it... never could get it set.
bought a Reman Carter BBD from Jegs/ or Summit... was Happy I did! never had a Problem again.

i've installed a few handfuls of them and only had one stinker in the lot.

you'll do well to blow it apart and check it and naturally you'll need to set the adjustments-- some of them dial in to factory specs on the money, others require a little more fettling.

I figured this would be the answer. I'd much rather have a Made In America real BBD, and give it a thorough cleaning and rebuilding.

What about a Holley 350 2 bbl? I never used one of them, but I think a Holley would be more tunable than a BBD, with its replaceable jets and power valves and such things. My one Holley carburetor 20+ years ago was a 450 mechanical secondary, and it ran well. Would a Holley 350 fit the same mounting bolt pattern as a BBD?

more than likely you'll need an adapter for the holley.

also, them "made in 'murca" bbd's ain't been made since gas was cheaper than coke so a lot of thems is flat *** wore out-- throttle shafts especially. parts is parts, but junk is junk; so inspect carefully before parting with a few jacksons.

A carefully-chosen ("1.08" size) Motorcraft/Autolite 2100/2150 is a better pick than a Holley 350. See this thread and this one. Neither the 2100/2150 nor the Holley 350 has the same mount pattern as a BBD; you'd need an adapter plate. Or, you might think about modding an intake manifold; see the parallel 2bbl setup article. Photo documentation of a very well done such conversion is here, and there's a nice pictorial on modifying a 1bbl intake here.

you can also get a kit that allows use of a weber 38mmx38mm DGAS DGES carb on a BBD (emissions carb) equipped jeep.

One presumes if the jeep had a bbd and the slant had a bbd the same kit might work.
probably makes little sense in the US where you have BBD falling out of trees

but in europe its a thing, because we don't have BBDs falling out of trees
