Wasn't sure where to post this question actually...not quite TECH forum related (although it is very much about an engine part), so here it goes.
Someone led me to these guys (ART's Automotive Garage) regarding a part I'm looking for. I reached out and indeed the answer was a robust "YES". Good, great...so I'll just work out the final price, figure out the shipping costs, send the $$$ and get my part, right?
Well, we now went no less than 4 or 5 rounds regarding the payment, each option (Zelle, Apple Pay, etc.) being requested to be paid to a private email/phone number/etc. Heck, even PayPal ask was a "friends and family" payment, and this is on a genuine retail part.
Soooo....if it flops like a fish, smells like a fish...I'm sorta thinking it ain't a duck or a crocodile, yeah? LOL
But but...seeing as this part is something I really want, I figured I'd ask here for feedback in case anyone has ever dealt with these folks and while all of this feels strange, they are in fact legit?
BTW: the business itself is absolutely a legitimate outfit...I just don't understand this attempt to process a payment that literally has no way to be tied to that part purchase...I mean even with PayPal charging them a fee, heck I'll tack that fee onto our final price and cover it, right? (I say this b/c that's precisely what I had done a few times while shopping for various Mopar parts, so I'm no stranger to the outrageous PayPal fees)
