Hi Gang, hope all is well.

I am absolutely stumped (as usual) with my fuel gauge. It is an Auto Meter #3315 with 73ohms (empty) and 8-12 ohms (Full).

The gauge worked with my previous tank and sending unit. This is a new tank and sending unit. I pulled the tank today and tested the sending unit and it reads 80 ohms empty and 10omhs full. I grounded the sending wire and the gauge pegs at full.

I turned the tank upside down so it reads 10ohms at the sending unit (tested) and jumpered it to the sending wire and nothing. Nada. I put the same jumper to ground and it pegs the needle at full.

Any ideas on what I am missing here?

      Bingo!

The test ground I was using, two clips and a wire, wasn't making contact.

      Thanks man!

Yep, that was it it. I had tested the grounding clips for contact but must have bumped it while under the car.
