would this set-up attached to a B-body trans fit an A-body? or is the raise in the bracket not tall enough to clear the crossmember? just curiosity...Thanks!

You will have to make a mounting bracket to mount the shiftier to the trams in the correct spot. I have a drawing of the piece that has to be made.
Then you will have to shorten the 1-2 and 3-4 rods. As far as the reverse rod is concerned it goes below.
I hopes that this will help you....Ted

That B bracket will have the shifter set back too far.
The correct one moves it forward to fit in the hole.

A B body-specific tailshaft housing has the mounting lugs right at the crossmember on an A body, and usually have to be mostly ground off for clearance. Which means there's nothing left to attach a shifter bracket to. A tail housing that has both B and E body mounts on it would need to have an adapter bracket made to mount to the rearmost E body lugs and move the shifter forward from there to the stock A body location.
The shifter itself is okay, but the rods will either have to be modified or replaced with A body rods.

Thank-you all for the information. Guess it's been to long since I've moved parts around to see where mounts are located on these pieces. Just a hypothetical question if it could be done. I guess if it WAS that easy, it would have been done before. Thank-you all for taking time to explain and reply!

IF you need an A body V-Gate mount I have a box of them made out of steel instead of aluminum with the pilot holes pre-drilled. You’ll have to figure out shift rods.

I "think" I may have a new installation kit somewhere in the dungeon. A Challenger I bought came with the shifter but I had a Dart. When I worked at the parts store I ordered the Mr.Gasket kit. My question was more of one of interest than something I planned to do. Thank-you for the offer, I'll keep it in mind just in case.
