On a 71 A body model 833 trans what goes in the hole on the side cover? The parts list that I have shows the back up light switch, but mine a switch located in the back of the case. Thanks Warren

Looks like someone drilled and tapped a hole in the side cover.

Just throwin out an idea...someone might have done that for a tranny temp gauge. It wouldn't be a bad place to put one.
Hole is too high for a temp gauge, but that wouldn't stop some people from trying.
