One of my "Barracuda" badges fell off and a couple more badges are loose. What is the best way to attach them? The one that fell off just seem to be glued on with no backing nut or device of any kind. The others seem to be glued on with a small metal part on the inside body panel. Also my car has never had the Pentastar on the lower right which I'd like to correct.

What is the correct way to attach badges?

Mine are held on with self threading post nuts...............

Here's how my '72 RR emblems were mounted with plastic..........

any glue you find is probably a "cheat" - fairly sure all the old school badging was nuts as above.. I have taken apart a few Darts, Dusters and Scamps, it was always a matter of getting in behind the badge and removing those nuts. The post behind the a in your pic should have had a nut on it..

Some used a push nut as well, and is probably what I would use for those since they are not that easy to find.
Tightening a threaded nut can snap an emblem in half just too easy for my taste.

I just removed 14 badges from my 67 notch ( for easier clay bar and wax ). All of them had speedy nuts of some sort. I wish there was a better easier R&R fastener. That post you've shown looks way undersized compared to mine. My scripts have the same large posts and nuts as the fish in a ring badge on the hood ( and trunk for 67 ).

Where do you get the nuts to put an emblem on? Wether they're push nuts or self threading. I've got some emblems to put on my Duster.

Got waaaay too busy for my taste, finally had a few minutes to stop by AutoZone. Plastic push nuts and a tiny bit of badge adhesive pushed through the open hole and the emblem is on more securely than before.

While I was at it I bought the Pentastar logo for the front fender. How can I ensure proper placement so it looks correct?

Thanks to all what a great site this is.

I'd take a dremel to that rust spot while you're in there, and put some rust fix on it at least if not a dab of top coat paint.

rain and leaves and crap in general gets caught in there and before you know it it will be quarter sized.

Pentagram measurements.
6 1/4" horizontal from back edge of fender to middle of pentagram.
4 1/4" horizontal from fender to middle of pentagram.
2 3/8" vertical from bodyline(before it bends in)down to middle of pentagram.
Pics suck sorry

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. The badge will be here this weekend and be on shortly thereafter.
