I converted our 1957 Desoto over from points ignition to electronic ignition. I put together my own ignition kit using a Mancini ignition box and an MSD Blaster 2 coil. Right now I have the ballast resistor that came with the MSD coil wired in. In the description the ballast resistor is supplied for use with points ignition systems. Do I need the ballast resistor using the Mancini ignition box and MSD coil?

If a ballast was supplied with the coil, the coil is designed to be used with it. I would keep it.

There's several posts on here about that same issue, I know because I used them setting up my ignition system. One thing they mention is that the Mopar ignition module requires a certain amount of resistance, also. I'd check with Mancini and see what they have to say about it.
