As you know I'm making the misc parts to rebuild the 67-69 Barracuda folding seat latching mechanism.

I discovered an oddity. The chrome knob's threaded hole is not centered on the levers tapered hole.

I'm reproducing the Chrome knob and need to know... is my lever a one off mistake where the hole was drilled or are they all that way?

If they are all that way I'll move the threaded hole in the Chrome Knob to match the latch.

Thanks

Dana

Um, how would I even see that part on an assembled seat? I'm just asking.

you wouldn't. It is inside the chrome rectangular cup that is screwed into the back of the seat. I'm hoping someone has their seat apart! Unless you want to take your seat apart??????? :poke:

That's what I thought. No, I had it apart last summer. Unfortunately, I did not make a note of this detail.

Can't see it clear enough in my 69 Shop Manual illustration to tell. My guess is that it is not an error.
I assume it is purposely off center, towards the wider, thicker area, in order to have enough material on the other side, for the length of the screw...

This one is for sale on EBay but the pictures don't show the screw hole location either.

The threaded hole is actually toward the thinner section the green lines are the thicker section. Being cast I suspect all of the knobs are the same.

The yellow circle could move a little right but a lot left
