About 30 years ago I drove my 383 4spd Coronet to St Pete from Tampa 5 days a week to the top of the world. The 2 boss ( old school kinda beach carpenters, cool dudes) men said they could always hear me coming from a far when I was late. Place had some crazy architecture. Anyhow, we were hand digging a 4' x 4' footer that went for like a mile. Big ass wall.... 2 Mexicans and me. It was a Friday. The boss told me we dig to a certain point, then leave w/ full days pay. He handed us checks and split. I outdug them both while they took their sweet ass time.. I busted my ass to get off 30 minutes early....no gain there.

Watching Mondelez/Nabisco in Richmond go through this.... It sounds like they had it way better than the average worker and now there is an alignment with how the world runs now. Nothing is worse than losing benefits and how someone's new work schedule can include no Overtime on the weekends. Been there, done that.

I hope there is something sorted out because it can all go bad and Mondelez can fold up tent and do everything in Mexico...

The engineers were on something, but I like what they did with the Mod/floral tops and interiors, cartoon graphics, and high impact colors. Even the Meep, Meep horn was over the top. 69 1/2 with a hot rod motor a lift off hood and black steelies with chrome lug nuts? WTF! That is some cool stuff. Yep they were on something good!

That's what the assembly line workers smoked. I have heard stories of roaches and roach clips in doors and on floors under carpet and seats.

That was one of the surprising things about this manager. He's late 40s and both his parents are immigrants (father is from the Philippines and mother is Japanese). From what I've seen of others with either background their kids are usually extremely hard-working.

Totally different, but not to far off, I was redoing an office in South Tampa just west of Downtown Tampa in 06. Found a bag of grass and a 1977 hustler or playboy. The dried hay was as old as the rag of mag.

I helped develope and produce a product for Mondelez, the amount of people they brought along was insane, 40-50 when it's usually under 6. They wanted the impossible from our QC people, didn't listen to us, and the product ultimately failed. They were a giant pain in the ass.
