    Hey all,
I am looking for feedback from the ones that have a same or similar installation.
I have a 74 Duster - Just installed the Borgenson Steering box with the Bergman Auto Craft Coupler so I didn't have to modify the steering shaft. -Disclaimer this is not a negative review or information regarding either products so please keep opinions out of it.

I'm running into a slight issue. The shaft coming from the steering box and the coupler are not mating all the way. I have about 1/2 inch before the safety screw can drop into the space between the front and back spline.

I reached out to Peter Bergman and he suggested that the steering shaft got bumped so I should pull on it to get the remainder of the distance but that didn't help at all.

I'm just looking for anyone that has done this install and if you were able to mate the coupler all the way on to the steering box shaft.

I put a block of wood against the pin that holds the shoes on the shaft. I had to use a couple of light taps from a hammer to move mine, it seemed to have plenty of length to complete the engagement. IIRC There is a plastic sleeve or coupler that holds the inner shaft and outer shaft in a fixed position, once you get the shaft to move it will kind of release and allow it to move further which will allow you to reach the correct length,

Mine was out of the car, if that makes any difference...

Did you pay extra for the gasket, cap and all? Thanks for the information, glad you posted it.

I saw that clip for the first time when I went to Indy this year. Detroit Muscle has them. There are two different sizes, so know which one you need. The smaller one is 2 3/4" long and the longer is about 1/2" longer.

              ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ correct ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

There are 2 different length couplers; 3" and 3-1/2

3" fits 67-73 A bodies, 66-73 B bodies and 70-73 E bodies. Fits many trucks and vans too. MEASURE THE OVERALL LENGTH OF YOUR COUPLER TO BE SURE.

3-1/2" fits 74-76 A body, 74-76 B Body, 74 E Body. MEASURE THE LENGTH OF YOUR COUPLER TO BE SURE.

The couple clamp/wire retainer does not fit the aftermarket couplers. For some reason they are made about .050" longer. Doesn't sound like much but the retainer can not be installed. its designed to be SNUG on the factory length piece
