Big block and 4 speed

ok, so I need some help...my car is an OG 340 4 speed car and I’m putting a 440 in it. (The og motor and trans were long gone) what bell housing Can I use to put a 4 speed back in it behind the big block? F body?
I have a good 727, but really want to put the stick back in it.
The car is being built as a 70’s super stocker

If it's being built as a Super Stocker, I wouldn't be putting a standard bell housing in it; I'd go with a Lakewood Scattershield. I believe it's a 15335.

By the way, it's great to see another big block A-body in the Cinci area. Good luck with your build.

Thanks, after some thought that’s probably the way I’ll go with it, a lot safer
