Anybody got pictures of an original kickdown for a 68 383 Cuda, I’ve looked at the service manual but need a real picture, Thanks Dave
It sure would be nice to see the original parts, since the conventional big block upper bellcrank puts the linkage rod against the firewall bulkhead wiring connector.Anybody got pictures of an original kickdown for a 68 383 Cuda, I’ve looked at the service manual but need a real picture, Thanks Dave
I don’t have a picture but the correct big block bellcrank has the lower linkage rod on the same side as the rod going to the carburetor and it’s shaped like a V. This eliminates having the lower linkage rod hitting the bulkhead connector. When I was putting together my M-code Cuda I was lucky enough to get a complete kick down assembly from a 383 A-body. I was even luckier in that I didn’t have to pay a lot for it.It sure would be nice to see the original parts, since the conventional big block upper bellcrank puts the linkage rod against the firewall bulkhead wiring connector.

The V shaped rod would explain it. I did get a reproduction upper bellcrank, but the lower linkage rod was at a funky angle.I don’t have a picture but the correct big block bellcrank has the lower linkage rod on the same side as the rod going to the carburetor and it’s shaped like a V.
