I got this with 2 833s I just bought. Seller was not sure what it was for . Is this a Lakewood for a small block mopar ? No part #s I can find ... Whats it worth ? I have no use for it at the moment.
Actually there is a part number stamped inside the bellhousing and then they paint over it. But if you look you should see it. They no longer make this bellhousing. Don't give it away. You're looking at $400 for that part without the block plate. Just my humble opinion which I always consider.
Just your humble opinion, but your not sending him $400 dollars. Right? what I’m saying is I’ll pay him $100.00 USD, no more questions asked.
I just paid $325 for one that was cut on. So it is not NHRA legal. I would rather have this one, that looks like new, for $400 than the one I bought. As for your $100 offer you should be ashamed. If it was yours you would not sell it for $100 would you? You made the statement that it may not pass inspection. That bellhousing looks like brand new. And if I'm not wrong it can be sent in and recertified. Your statements were to beat down the price not to be honest about it. OP asked for Price or value. That's scattershield is a $400 to $500 item and you know it just as well as I do. Everybody is looking for a good deal I understand that. So here's my offer today through PayPal I would give him $250 for it. Not because I need it but that would be a good deal for me.
i didnt know this until recently. there is a serial number stamped on the flange somewhere. i was told by lakewood they werent going to recertify any more bell housings without the serial number. i learned that last fall when i sent a bb bell in for recerttification. it had a serial number so they did that one.
. What did it cost you to get it recertified? Here is the one I paid $325 for. You don't see it but the block plate is there also.
the make sure it hasnt taken an explosion for one thing. they also verify that it hasnt been modified in any way.i dont know why they wont recertify one without a serial number. that sounds like a money grab.
That looks just like the dual pattern SB lakewood bell my bro ran in his 64/340 Barracuda. Used a hydro T/O bearing. Those flanges on the bottom stick out a little when looking under it
The OP's one does not have a block off plate. Big Difference. Where are you going to get JUST the block off plate?
I just passed on one that was complete with the plate, fork everything for 300.00 I didn't really need it.
Are they available new? I only see mopar big block: Manual Transmission Bellhousing Safety Plates - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing
dang, my bro lost his Gen 1 w/Lakewood bell in a storage lock out in Anaheim, CA. He was stationed up in WA in the Navy and called me to tell me to grab everything you could before midnight of that night. I had about 5 hours to stuff a breakdown picker into the back of my Breeze and run out to his storage and start pulling his 340 alone. I got it and some carbs but the 833 would not come out.
