Bonneville Landspeed Racing - Let's Try a Thing.

I got a relay pack and wired up the fans to a toggle for now. Holy smokes these move air. Ford Contour. You can feel the vacuum with a hand by the grill. Should be perfect.

My tubes of 3M fire barrier came today as well. I have an order in for helmet hook, full metal valve stems, battery disconnect with alternator and coil dosconnect terminals, and roll cage tubing padding. Order was through Pegasus Racing. Ordered today, expected UPS Tomorrow - standard shipping. WTF? Really?

SCTA said my fire suppression mounting plan should be good. I am hoping to drive this thing next week.
That’s a big post. Can you see light at the end of tunnel? You should be proud of everything you’ve accomplished up to this point, you’re killin it.

so much watching this! good luck, and an amazing build

start a what will it run thread?

again, good luck and rack some speed!
Nah, this year is all about passing tech inspection and hopefully making a few safe rookie passes. Even if the car was a record contender, it would be extremely unlikely the first year in a new car with a rookie driver. There are licensing runs as well.

Thank you Sir. Yeah, there is a flicker in the distance. Hopefully i can get this fired and moving in the next week or so. Then it will be all about miles, fixes, changes and prep for Sept 3-7.

I need:
a push bar, push truck fire extinguishers, and mount the CB in the truck.

I want:
Side windows, rear spoiler, another 500hp, and some lip stick on this pig (funny, I have a decal for that I'll show you)

Well, I pulled the steering shaft out of the car after marking where to make the cut. Plan is to have about 6" of steering shaft stay attached to the steering wheel with the quick connect to give a bit more room for climbing in and out. It is actually easier to climb in amd out of the window than using the door. Parts were made and all painted.

Headers were pulled and sand blasted today. Then painted with Cerkote. Sprayed super nice.

Then started working on the throttle pedal as I am not very happy with how difficult it is to push. It is a push pull morse cable. I ordered a shorter one to eliminate the bends. Maybe it will help.

Then started working on the front fenders to get them better. Its been a couple good days if work

Nice progress. There is a nice dry lubricant for the Morse cables. I used it on the shift cable and forward/reverse cables on my boat. It worked excellent. I’ll see if I can find what I used.

Well I picked up another set of 68 coronet headlight bezels at MITP so I can make the Nascar style headlight block offs. This will eliminate the need for safety film on the bulbs. I also got some 3/8 bar stock for the passenger side window support and fender supports. I will get some seat belts ordered this week as it is now June.

I need to get my *** moving, but I am going to go screw off in Belgium (and possibly Italy) for a week, next week first

Get some waffles and spaghetti lol

The car won’t die at an early age from donuts and Pepsi.
Now my vacation is completely ruined. Thanks buddy.

There, now the car has that race car look.
