My Boss recently bought a ‘67 Barracuda, and he drove it in to the office for first time today. Link to my post with some pics below.

Here’s the question: The carb on there right now is an Edlebrock, and it has a fuel leak somewhere. He says he doesn’t want to fix it, as “….the original carb was a Holley, and that’s what I want to put back on”.

But I thought they had AFB’s on them in ‘67….

Any way to know for certain?

Only holleys on 1967's were 350 horse Cbody 440's.

What engine does he have? 273-235 was an AFB.

Yes the service manual tells what carb on what engine. Also the Galen white book

Yep 273 ^

Looks like a newer Edelbrock by the 2 low speed mixture screws.

Possibly someone tore the the upper bowl gasket (that's leaking) when they were jetting down the 1406 to run with the smaller displacement 273.

Not many places for them to leak other than the fuel inlet?

Thanks! You nailed the engine with your answer: 273/235.

I’m just afraid he’s going to put that Holley on it and mess up his transmission, as I know how critical that kickdown adjustment is.

Not to mention the fact that he says he wants to keep it original….

Not sure where it’s coming from exactly, but it did seem like the throttle shafts were dirtier (wetter?) than most other spots.

Hopefully I can gently convince him that a Holley carb isn’t OEM.

No small block mopars came with a Holley 4bbl. The only small block mopar from the musclecar era that came with a Holley is the 340 Six pack.

Then the mid 70's 2bbl 360's

Show him this list, will he believe it?

And reference on how that Edelbrock mopar automatic kickdown linkage should look.
Want to have that Edelbrock linkage bracket in there too.

Yes good to have that kickdown correct.

Another picture I took of the engine compartment, but only due to the new gaskets/seals on the firewall. However, it does “kinda” show some of the kickdown and throttle linkage….
