Any one have any ideas about get the clips that hold the brake hoses in place to have a tight fit ! I’m worried that if they don’t they could rattle a rub hole or crack over time .

How loose is too loose?

The new clips I got from Inline (71 ebody) average about .008 thinner material than the factory clip. The overall "height" of the clip when measured against a flat surface was about .012 flatter that the old one as well. Couple that with the unknown tolerance/location of the retaining groove in the new hose and you will run into this.

I had the same issue with a couple of new clips on mine, the hose was just too loose after installation. I re-used the old clips in a couple of spots for that very reason. One hose was still too loose so I had to tweak the clip by bending it a little so it took up more space in the final assembly.

A vise and a hammer to bend both legs at a time. This is what I did. I didn't need to bend it much.

Or a vise and a wrench to spread the legs apart from each other, so one leg pushes toward the hose and the other leg pushes away from the hose. Again, a little bending goes a long way.

I keep hundreds of them in stock —- I don’t want to be bothered ordering a couple of them every week….

$ 2.00 each all day long…..

P.M. me , as per forum rules, if interested….
