Has anyone ran cal trac 4200s on their a body with the leaf spring relocation kit? I see they sell the 4209 that is meant for the cars with relocated leaf springs.

Does anyone know the physical difference between the two?

Welded cantilever pivot vs bolted together?

Bolt together won't usually swing inside a relocation box.

Just went through this. Ordered the wrong part number for my inboarded setup and Calvert racing fixed me up.

Difference between the two part numbers is 2 parts on each side, both on the forward end of the springs. The spring mount/cantilever setup has the pin welded in flush to clear the frame side spring mount and the pin that goes into the leaf spring eye is also narrower to fit in the mount.

Did they send you the correct part or did you modify your existing set up?

Calvert Racing fixed me up by sending me the correct parts and a return label to send back what was getting replaced. Awesome customer service. They even took the time to tell me the differences between each kit and how there are variances between various spring relocation kits. All that and it was my fault for ordering the wrong kit to begin with.

I don’t remember off the top of my head but I’ll go check my paperwork and get back to you.

I ended up with the 4209 kit which is the right kit for the US Car Tool / AMD inboard kit.

Which inboard kit do you have? Believe it or not, it makes a difference on which pivot plates they will send. Example - US Car Tool inboard kit and Direct Connection inboard kits require different pivot plates due to having different spacing in the forward leaf spring pocket.

Your best bet would be to call and tell them what you have so they can send you the right stuff.

Before you do anything, see if the pivot plates fit inside the pocket. If it does, you're golden.

This is exactly what I experienced. 100% excellent tech service and eager to help and a willingness to set it straight right there and then. People on the phone. I highly recommend it! Totally! Top notch with me.

What made it even better was I had picked up a set up second hand and they didn’t care. Being everything was so excellent, I reminded them to send me stickers for the side of the car. The laughed and said no problem, they come with what I’m sending what you need. He wished me good luck and happy hunting.
