Can I use a 67 904 on a 72 225 or is the crankshaft register hole size a problem?

Has anyone heard from Greg Purcell? He's not been active in a LONG time. The system won't even let me tag him.

I'm not following this . I'm dense sometimes I think I want to do this same thing but I'll ask it better . I have a 71 slant 6 ( a230 on it stock ) I have a 1968 904 we'd like to throw in it.

Is that the option of needing the spacer ?
What year converter and flex plate needed ?

Is this just not possible ?
That's because this thread was not read thoroughly by some respondants, & resurrected 3× now, so here;
'68 and up Slanty cranks & Trans/converters/flywheels large hubs/registers.
'67 and up LA cranks & Trans/converters/flywheels large hubs/registers.

Slantys with pre-'68 cranks to '68 & up trannys require ;
A) Crank register machined up to the larger diameter, there is enough meat to do so. OR;
B) A custom '68 & up torque converter with a smaller register hub.

C) The correct small register flexplate for the crank.

Slantys with '68 & up cranks to '67 & older trannys require ;
A) Spacer ring to center the smaller hub in the larger register.
B) The correct large register flexplate for the crank.
