I have the carb off my 434 and noticed that the Super Sucker four hole spacer doesn't match the intake flange opening very well in the corners. It overhangs quiet a bit, tomorrow I'll try to scribe it to see just how much.

When I sent the heads and intake to Larry Smith he wanted the spacer too so it went along for the ride. It appear he sand rolled it to remove some of the cnc lines. When this engine was on the dyno the Super Sucker was worth 13 hp and really balanced the afr's on each bank.

I'm wondering if there is anything to be gained by matching the bottom of the spacer to the intake flange opening? Anyone anyone tried this?

    Thanks, Justin

Frankly, if it makes 13hp as is, i dont think i would mess with it.

I talked to HVH, the guy I spoke with seemed to think it might pick up a little on top. I sent him the image so he could see the difference, awaiting his reply.

The reply to my e mail from HVH, "You should be able to match to the gasket and see a power gain." I'll get it laid out and start to work.

Justin, is that a 1" or 2" spacer? Just curious, as I have a 1" tapered spacer on mine....thinking about trying the 2" HVH.

That is a sizable mismatch. Are you going grind/blend it out?

match is up as well as you can, anything not streamlined down there is not good. Those TQ to squarebore adapters suck ass when adapting the TQ to the intake.
