Does anyone know who makes a carbon fiber six pack hood for a 72 duster. Is anyone even doing it.

Which do you perfer Pin hood or Hinge?

Not that I know of. Have only ever seen fiberglass ones.

Pin on vs hinged just depends on what you want and what you are wiling to put up with.

Brackets and hinges are around 12lb a set. If you go that way you will need to set a set of lighter springs or you will crack the glass hood.

If you go lift off there is always the where do put the hood when I take it off problem.

The other way to go is leave the hood spring brackets on and just take off the springs. 10lb of them is the spring so that will remove a good chunk of the weight and you could also drill some holes in the brackets to lighten them up a little more. The down side is the hood will not stay up but you could always go to a junk yard and find a car with a prop rod and use that. Or make one.

What about carbon fiber wrap on a fiberglass hood. Anyone seen that done?

I spoke with a few vendors about building a carbon hood, or doing my hood in carbon, and nobody will touch it, markets too small and costs are too high.
