I'm miles from home with 3% battery left and no charger. What are you guys doing for charging your devices?

Miles from home or miles from anyplace that might have a charger to buy

USB C

lightning

Does you phone have wireless charging?

SOME brands of phones can share a charge from another compatible phone

Be sure Bluetooth and wifi are turned off and turn on battery saver mode and airplane mode OR power the phone off.

do you have a charge cable with you but no wall or cigarettes lighter charger

I leave a charger in my vehicle. If you take yours out every trip, maybe write up an inventory list of things you need before making your next trip so you don't forget.

Dadsbee nailed it.
Every driver I've got has a cigarette lighter charger and cord (or cords, for B and c devices).
The gf also bought me a portable solar power supply that will supply power for an emergency phone during an extended power outage. (Or after an emp).

Try to find a youngster who can read a clock with hands on it, or, use a paper map instead of a GPS giving them directions. Talk about a blank look on their face!

So a stock "cigar lighter" is viable? It seems simple enough. The car is a 70 Duster, with an ash tray with the provision, but no socket or lighter. Has anyone installed an upgraded cigarette lighter or 12v socket they can recommend?

Years ago I installed some power points/ cig. lighter into our old large trucks that didn't have any so the drivers didn't cause wiring problems. Parts store then, internet now. Make sure to fuse it. Up to you if battery or ignition power.

"Dollar Tree" has some cheap USB A to C cables.

However, Racetrac and Dollar General seem to want a premium for theirs.
I see them for over 10 bucks. No thanks.

Of course, apple "lightning" carries an apple premium as well.

Go to a junkyard and cut one out of any older car. They’re all pretty much the same. As said above make sure to fuse it but other than that it’s a one wire hook up. Fairly easy to do.

I usually know what it is that, I should be doing, but reading some comments from the peanut galley is, good for a little entertainment and it was.
I ordered a 2 pack of 1
old school lighters and sockets from Amazon for cheap, so I should be hot in a day or 2.

color me shocked that your car doesn't have a lighter. i thought all cars from back when did.

hell, my barracuda has TWO... and SIX (!!) ashtrays!

ETA: now that i'm thinking about it... there may actually be three lighters: ashtray, dash, console. i don't smoke, so i rarely use the ashtray.
