    I have a a 489 case with 4 something gears with a suregrip.
    I also have a 3 23 742 case .
Can i use the suregrip from the 489 case
    In the 742 case .
I want to end up with a 3.23 sure grip
    In a 742 case.

Yes the sure grip will interchange between the 489 and 742 case I’ve done it but not sure about the 741 case though.

It will work in all 3 cases, 489 has bigger O.D. bearings

If the bearings and races are good than you can install your SG in any case 741,742 or 489. The bearing/race set up are specific to the type SG you have., Cone or Clutch. Just get the same part numbers you have now on there.

I said it wrong it's the I.D. that is bigger on the Borg Warner cone clutch 70 - up 489 case
The Dana Power lok sure grip 57 - 69 741, 742 cases use the same bearings
So the power lok will fit in all 3 cases
