Absolutely beautiful! If he ever wants to sell, please contact me directly! My father sold his '66 Formula S when he was young and in his 20's, to a man in Maryland, and he regrets it to this day. It was almost exactly optioned like your fathers: Citron Gold, Formula S package, gold interior, 4 speed, disc brakes, etc.

if you ever come across another one just like this that someone wants to sell, let me know, I'll hook you up with a finders fee if I buy it.

My dad got in tough with the original owner after years of research, strange but I think dad’s car was in Maryland for awhile. I think my dad is the 3rd or 4th owner. Sorry but this car will not be for sale, I hope to get it someday and then pass it on to my son...it will always stay in the family.

Here are some pictures with his new Good Year Bluestreaks...the car was restored around 1986 and needs some mechanical attention...rear end will be rebuilt and he has a NOS sure grip and 3:23 gears. Radiator will be recored, engine pulled and heads rebuilt, new gaskets and paint, needs new heater core and rebuild the entire front suspension, also a few other things too.

Kieth the 66 looks good with the new tires. One of these days Pete and I need to get our 66 'S' together for a picture. I hope our snow will melt soon so we can go for a drive.

Understood. All good. If you ever find another, you let me know! and if you find out the name of that original owner, let me know too! My father's name is John Russell, he was probably the 3rd or 4th owner of the car, and he sold the car to a man named Walter Barb. also, here is a picture, the only picture i have of the car i have access to at the moment.

Hello stickpony, will your dad remember the name of the owner he bought from? That pic does look like my car.

Very nice. I could only dream of an early Barracuda like that. Mine will not be that pretty.

Stickpony, is that a dent to the right side of the trunk lock? Bumper looks a little bent too...must be a different car but man that sure looks the same...don’t think dad’s ever had a dent there and his bumper was straight...looks like the same aftermarket gas cap too...

i asked my father if it was a dent, and he said no, its just a reflection from an object that is in the foreground, behind whomever is taking the picture. as to the bumper being bent, he was never in an accident in the car, and the bumper was straight when he had it, the upward angel of the rear end is probably creating an optical illusion. the photo is a bit old, and the camera i used to take the picture isnt very good, cheap cell phone:)

it could very well be a different car, or the same car, who knows. i just know that that particular option combination wasn't common:)

Hi Pete! great to meet you sir. Beautiful car you have!

My father said he doesn't remember off hand who he bought it from originally, but he said he will think it over and call me back. He is down in FL, I live in Northern GA:)

he did tell me who he sold it to, a man named Walter Barb, also from Maryland. Where the car wound up after Walter, we do not know, as they didn't stay in touch. My father did put Mags on it, but when he sold it, he also included the original wheels with it to the buyer.

My Barracuda had a driver side replacement front fender and repaint down the middle of the hood. Also a Valiant center grille. So it must have been in an accident. The original owner was Ronald Haupt. He told me he traded it in for a VW bus because his family was growing

A local guy bought it for his wife but after 3months he sold it to me for 650.00. She didn’t like the 4sp.he worked at a Pontiac dealer and it was a car the dealership bought. I was told it was from Washington. A funny side note: I got my driver license in my dad’s green Barracuda. I was driving that when I spotted the Formule S with a for sale sign in the quarter window. Pulled up next to him at a stop sign to flag him down. He just stayed there because he thought this kid wanted to race him

Pete’s car has a driver side door mirror that is not a twin post style...but he said thats the one that’s always been on the car since he bought it...in the other pic you posted it looks like the same mirror...very similar. Pete, your car had wheel covers on it when you bought it correct?

Nice story and history Pete. The person I bought Mine from in Wy does not even remember the the 66 Blue Barracuda'S' I purchased from him in 1984. I called him last year and talked for awhile.

That's so cool:) back when you COULD race and not get a ticket.

So I talked with my old man this morning, and while the similarities are very close, it's looking more likely like yours may just be a different car. He corrected my information, and told me he was probably the 3rd or 4th owner of his car. And he bought it from a man named Brian Rush, who had a custom California style 'tuck and roll' interior installed. I dont know what that would look like, but your Formula S appears to have the stock interior, is that correct?

Additionally , his Barracuda had fender well exit headers, which yours looks like it has stock manifolds.

Anyways, Perhaps you and my father can swap car stories, his name is John Russell, his cell phone is 941-932-5887

That is definitely a different car...dad’s car had stock original interior and never had the inner fenders cut for headers....sloth I believe he thought about doing that at one time!

i think he should still do it! They don't have to be fender exit, they can be standard longtube mandrel bent headers. longtube headers make such a huge improvement in flow IMO, you'll get a distinct gain, probbaly 10-15 HP, 15 lb/ft torque
