Hello,

1966 Dart, I recenly replaced my damaged instrument panel circuit board.

When reassembling, the turn signal relay's black ground wire, which had a unknow bare spot on the insulation, shorted out and burnt the insulation back about six inches before I turned off the key. I was able to replace the burnt section of wiring and thankfully everything still operates, except for the cigarette lighter. Not sure the burn wire to the signal relay is related but I wanted to point that out.

Anyway, it's been a number of years since I smoked but I use the outlet for phone charging. It worked until I started with the board replacement project.

The single red wire to the connector show no power with my test light, there is a dedicated fuse for the lighter and I get a light from both ends of the fuse socket. I tried tracing the red wire from the lighter socket back and it appears to go to the back of the fuse holder. But it doesn't look like it goes to the section where the lighter fuse is located on the front. Is there someplace else that that wire goes to? Perhaps in the engine bay, is it protectd by some sort of breaker there of fusable link?

Thank you for any assistance.

Jay
