What mounting holes did you use thanksget a hold of 6pk2goDemon. she installed a classic air system in a 72 demon with alot of pictures. i put one in my 72 dart, but didn't think to take pics. dave.
it's been several years since my install, but seems i had to drill into the bottom of the cowl with a self tapping screw to hold up the condenser. while i'm happy with mine, it didn't just fall right in like the instructions claim. be prepared to tweak a little. instructions like alot to be desired. What mounting holes did you use thanks
Im thinking about getting this kit too but im more concerned with how well the compressor mounts and lines up with the pulleys.
Also wondering if I can use the original under dash vent assembly that was used on AC cars instead of using their vents.

Hello everyone I’m going to buy a classic air for 72 demon and was wondering how it mounts up what holes will i need
How has the reliability of the system held up since you have had it for a few years?
as far as the reliability goes, it's been great. the cables are sloppy and cant get them just right, but that might be in my controls. takes a long time to defog when on defroster, not sure why, but other than that it cools just fine. i wish it had outside air capability, but you can just use the drivers side air vent. i'm running mine with a stock magnum a/c pump, so can't comment on the supplied sanden pump. How has the reliability of the system held up since you have had it for a few years?
the blower motor hole is larger on the a/c cars, but no biggie. i think it's mostly because of the heater controls. the classic cables use the non a/c heater levers, where the a/c controls are vacum controlled.Mine is a factory AC car but their webpage is misleading. At first it reads as if the system is for non-AC cars only but down torwards the bottom it says "
A/C, Heat and Defrost. For non factory air & factory air vehicles."
I did email them several weeks ago to ask this specific question but never got a response from them.
ya, it will fit no problem. would be alot easier to do with a non a/c panel. you need the heat and defrost levers to hook the cables to. as far as the larger blower hole, just make a larger cover for it. several has put these units in a/c cars.I cant imagine it would be too hard for me to make the controls work with the ac panel. How about the non-ac panel, will it fit in the same hole? Im sure I have one here in my stash.
