Just put the black Mopar performance air cleaner on my 440 Dart. Looks great as I already have the black Mopar valve covers. It is pressing deeply into the hood insulation pad. I already changed the filter element from the original 3" to a 2" high element, but still pressing into the pad. Does anyone know if there is a recessed air cleaner mounting plate that will make it sit lower on the carb? I am using an Edelbrock Performer 440 manifold and Edelbrock Performer series 750 cfm carb. Thanks

Mancini racing sells one too, I had to get it because I was having the same problem
I run a dropped base , I got off ebay, cheaper . I would remove that hood insulation first .
A 12x2 air cleaner is awful small for a 440 , in my opinion.

Depending on your setup, the drop base can interfere with the trans kickdown on an automatic. I need to raise the throttle cable bracket on mine to level off the kickdown rod.

I don’t think a drop base will fit on an Eddy carb. They were made for Holley carbs and any of there look a likes. Kim

The one from Mancini works on an Edelbrock carb just fine.

Not 440 related but I used a short/small adapter made from aluminum on my sb. Eddy carb, factory commando cleaner, LD4B. Factory throttle and lockdown linkages work fine.
Dunno if it helps in your case.
Dimensions 5 1/4" OD, just shy of 5" ID.
