I have Aldun`s in mine, not terribly happy w/ them, not as much travel as I`d like. Had to put 350 lbs springs on them too, they came w/ 500 lbs springs on them . Any one need a pair of 500 lbs springs ?!

I have Aldans as well. They are a short travel shock. There are much better offerings out there!

I have an HDK and went with the QA1 promo star shocks. These were on the recommended list by Denny. Car is still engine-less so I can't speak to the ride.

-QA1 7888-109 Coil-Over Thrust Bearing Kit - Qty 2

-QA1 DS403 Proma Star Coil-Over Shock, 15.000/11.125 Ext/Comp - Qty 2

-QA1 10HT550 High Travel Coil Spring, 550lb Rate, 2-1/2 ID, 10 In Long - Qty 2

Do you have a big block or going to put a big block in it?

I have a small block in mine don’t think I need that much spring rate but thanks for the information

Sorry if I might have missed your inquiry. ....
As stated above, the Qa1 DS 303 (single adjustable) or the Qa1 DD 303 (double adjustable) are the ones that fit best in the limited space we have using the factory LCA pivot points.

Don't forget the thrust washers that go between the spring and the pre-load adjuster.

there is a greater selection of springs in the 9" vs 8"....but you need a spring compressor or take the top of the shock off to get the taller spring on the shock. The top is threaded on the shaft.
