So I am far from painting my car right now. But when people ask what color I will paint it I generally say back to its original color MM1 Turbine Bronze.
But honestly I keep flip flopping between 2 different colors Electric blue and it's original color Turbine Bronze? Just for reference I will definitely be keeping the original interior color of White/Black two tone. As well I want an original stripe kit (white) that ran along the lower side of the car.
Any suggestions. The car will not be original, as it was originally a 318 with split front bench. My vision is a 340 formula S restomod. So with all that in mind what are your thoughts? All ideas are welcome. But I am definitely not changing interior color. Pics are welcome of course.

Personally, I like the orange, and see no reason of painting it unless the bodywork is bad, or another colour is just preferred.

I don’t think that you can go wrong with either color, but I prefer the original color on cars, even cars that have had visual and/or performance modifications, as a way of connecting the new with the old.
Can you post a shot of the interior?
      I don’t know that I have ever seen a black / white I interior.
For the side stripe, and I like those also, I would match that to the color of the side strip that was available on that body color back in the day. If I was going to do a stripe color different from OE I would strongly consider doing a tint of the body color. Enough tint to see that it is there, but matching to look like part of the exterior not necessarily part of the interior.

Imo - I really like the original color with a nice set of wheels. Big investment changing the color and doing it correctly.

I had the same dilemma 25 years ago when I was working on my Barracuda. It's a hard choice. I was torn between plumb crazy, 1995 viper blue, 1995 viper red. Like you I wanted the lower stripes, but I wanted to paint them. This is what I wound up with.1995 viper red. I based the black stripes and tried to fade the stripes out to dust as getting to rear wheels. One side went great then I had to match the other. Turned out okay. Take your time the color will come to you. 100_2235.JPG

I like the original Turbine Bronze. I just went through the same decision with my 68, except my original color was the tan color. I did not like it, so it came down to the 68 light metallic green or light metallic blue. Luckily my daughter helped out with picking green. I like your color, so I would have gone that way if original.

Yes the body is in rough shape. It's getting new quarter panels new floor pan and I'll be stripping the paint in spring. So new paint is in order. For me the last color I'd paint a Mopar is orange, it just seems so overdone. I blame it on those Duke Boys.

The Interior is completely gutted and all pictures that I had were lost when my phone was run over by my garbage truck (short story but not relevant). But the bench was replaced by buckets from a 1967 barracuda the interior trim code is H5W so basically the seats arm rests and door skins were Pearl White and the headliner, dash, carpets, upper painted door door area, back area behind the seats were all black with the stainless mouldings, also the console is black. As for the stripe white was available although I am leaning towards having them painted on instead of stickers and also going pearl white stripes to match the seats. I saw a charger with mirror black paint and matte black stripes, I fully agree a slight difference in color from the main body looks awesome.

I'd really like to see a true Turbine Bronze car in person on a nice sunny day. But seems to be a rare color around here. I've never seen one that I recall at car shows. Once I removed the windshield I saw the original paint on the lip of the metal around windshield that was not painted. But very difficult to get any idea on how it would look on the whole car.

Viper Red with black stripes. I love it looks fast just sitting there! Damn I can't wait to see mine painted. Agree with the painted on stripes for sure.

My dad had a brand new 68 Formula S 340 that was black , B5 interior with a B5 side stripe. Absolutely beautiful car. The Black was flawless from the factory.

This is my dilemma when I was a kid the first car I ever rode in that I can recall was my stepdads 1970 Charger R/T that was electric blue, god it was beautiful! In a way I'd like to pay homage to that old charger, but even though my barracuda wont be factory I've always liked the idea of retaining the original color. It also helps that it's a decent color, from looking at the Chrysler turbine cars. Also kind of a neat bit of history with that paint color. Decisions decisions...

If you are considering a Formula S tribute. I suggest you go with a black stripe rather than a white stripe. The Formula S accents are black (trunk tail piece, grills) Black stripes will go fine with your black and white interior.
As for colour on the car, your choice, either are nice.

            I know it's a matter of personal choice, but IMO Turbine Bronze and White on Black interior seems to be a very nice combination. Here some examples I've found on web;

'68 Formula S cars had no black grills nor trunk tail pieces. That's '69

You will figure out in your time!

For me it was a no brainer for my 69 going back to B7/B5.

They can all be awesome in any color! Best of luck deciding!

I will say one thing about A Body colors. Keep in mind that this is JUST MY OPINION. I have seen some A Bodies (particularly 67-69 Barracudas) that were painted in a bold color that may have looked good on some other car brand, but it just didn't look right on the Mopar. So think about the color, but think about how it will look on the car too.
