If it has a snap ring or wire lock ring it should come apart. I f not it's one piece. Depends on who made it.

I seen the cup in the lifter valley but never noticed a clip or snap ring. I. Better look again. Thanks guys

So what would be the "problem"?

The Elite Race solid rollers have a replaceable cup. The lifters like the 829 do not, the cup is machined into the body.

Adjuster backed off and threw off the pushrod on number 2 cylinder exhaust. Cup was laying in the valley

didn`t the better lifters go to snap ring for just that problem ??

here's a suggestion, when ever you get your meathooks on new lifters, hydraulic, solid or roller.and they have wire retaining clips replace them with snap rings. save a lot of money and wasted time fixing things.

most any hardware store with the little flat drawers you pull out will have them. try mcmastercar.com also, they have so much stuff it's unbelievable.

My lifters do not have any kind of a retainer. The p/r cup has an O ring on it for a friction fit. Just thinking out loud here guys, but I wonder if I can use a shin to raise the seat some, or is a guy playing with Fire Lol. Kim
