Hi all,

I have a stock 1967 273 2BBL with the stock solid lifters. I Noticed that the 4BBl HP 273 came with hydraulic lifters. Can hydraulic lifters be used in the solid lifter block without oil passage or other modifications? ( I recognize that the cam would need to be changed)
Thanks

That is good news. Thanks
forgot to ask... push rods and rockers need to be changed as well?

Nope...the 4bbl 273 had solids too, and a hotter cam than the 2bbl, but yes, you can convert to hydro lifters by using all the hydraulic valvetrain parts, ie, hydraulic lifters, pushrods and stamped hydraulic rockers.

All you need is the hydro cam, lifters and hydro/mech pushrods. Keep your rockers. Question is why do you want to convert to hydraulic? Solid in a 273 is a nice sound (or lack of it when they are adjusted).

I also vote keep the adj rockers, they will be much more precise than the stamped stuff

I love my solids. I adjust mine every couple years. (6-8000 miles)
