I was going through some old service bulletins from the 60's and came across this 2 page bulletin to MI dealers.
I wonder if some people actually took their vehicle in for this change...I doubt it,
but it is an amusing read.

Lol, that's pretty cool! I wonder what the "bylaws/restrictions" were back then?
"excessive" is pretty vague lol. Cool piece! 65 the 1st year for the commando?

I had a friend in Pa with an AAR Cuda that had to get paperwork from Chrysler to show in court that factory designed the exhaust that way. It was the only way he got out of loud and faulty exhaust ticket.

Detroit cops wouldn't write you a ticket for that, especially if you're driving a 65 "S" Barracuda 273 Commando! 65'

They had to catch you first to give you a ticket... lol!

              The title should have read....
"Cops in Michigan apparently DIDN'T like loud 273 exhaust" !
You surprised me though, thinking you were posting something recent.

The resonator on my 65 Barracuda Commando, was VERY well know by the local law enforcement in North Miami, FL 1966-67, like a moth to a light bulb. I think they missed me when I left for the Air Force. Not to worry, a short time later, I drew some attention in Dover, Delaware. :usflag:

I would have told them where they can stuff my stock exhost.

In '70, when I picked up my new AAR, the mufflers(IIRC) and side exhaust (definitely), came in boxes in the trunk. There was a printed sheet with the stuff in the trunk, saying that in some states the exhaust has to run out the back end, and the side exit exhaust might be illegal, so you have to substitute other parts if that were the case.
