nitro is a oxygen bearing fuel....and they spin the supercharger faster to make up for the lack of atmosphere....super charger is making its own atmosphere......

conditions at bandimere....

temperature = 77.0 deg f
relative humidity = 43 %
uncorrected barometer* = 24.40 Hg
corrected barometer* = 30.20 Hg
density altitude = 8398.65 ft

track elevation: 5813.6 ft

True that, but it's the art of keeping it together and getting it to the ground. Bandimere is tough.

5,800 feet up.
This track is so cool to watch even on TV, the moutons on both side and everyone in the grass, Ramcharger (Joe) went 2 years ago and sent me a T-shirt ..

I never thought about the super charger making its own atmosphere 70aarcuda

Looks like you have the info down pat sir :thumleft: She must be proud though, that is fast at any track :colors:

I see people bouncing off the walls there once every other time I go. Gorgeous track site, but you have to be on your game to play with fast cars up there.

Keep in mind that the faster they spin the supercharger, the more hp is wasted trying to spin it. You are 100% correct that nitromethane is an oxygen bearing fuel, but can only push so much in before it hydro locks and explodes. Just food for thought.

Jason Line was on the radio today saying his pro-stock car lost 28% of it's total output (non-supercharged).

Holy Crap! Bandimere put in a new starting line cooling system that I'm sure they put into effect for the Nationals. It's amazing they can hook that much power at any track! BTW, they don't turn it on for us lowly guys...

i think they put in those cooling tube a few years ago....April 2008

Track has a proprietary 'Track Cooling System' that is unique to the drag racing industry. This track cooling system lies in the concrete launch pad and circulates chilled water from a pair of 12,000 gallon underground tanks through over 15,000 foot of lines in the launch pad. The cooled area is 200' long; 40' behind the starting line to 160' past the start. Track temperature probes in the concrete, as well as surface reading show temperature reductions between 15-25 degrees.
