Cowl vent cover

For the non ac guys. Got tired of the hot Florida air blowing in the vents. Want to keep leaves and critters out, too. So I whipped up one of these.
Cut a template.

Cut a cover out of a roll of magnetic sign material.

Painted it and added some slats with a stencil my wife had.

Dang it works! And rated to 60 mph so far! Junior liked it so we made him one.

That's a great idea. For the less artistically inclined a piece of clear bra would work too, just be sure there is enough material outside of the louvers

I have seen fellas take clear plastic and bolt it down. Bolt going upwards from in between the grate, lock washer and nut on top. While, unlike yours, there’s was certainly not the most attractive thing, but it did the job very well at the drag strip.

I do this in the wintertime to keep cold air blowing through my worn-out wiper pivot seals lol. This method looks much nicer than just using masking tape though.
