I was adjusting the timing and points dwell today and noticed my carb body is cracked and damp with fuel. Is this a common problem with Holley 1920s?

I was planning to rebuild a holley 2280 to put on the 2 barrel intake I have. I also have a carter 2 bbl I picked up cheap to use as a core. What rebuild places are you all using if you are sending carbs out?

I think I'm going to rebuild the 2280 myself and see how that works. My dad also has a 2100 with the correct venturi size I may rebuild as well and then build an adapter

Probably dozens of rebuilders out there. I am more of a GM person, so know the main Quadrajet ones, but believe they do all domestics as well. Sean Murphy, Quadrajet Power, Cliff Ruggles, etc.
Eastern ones, listed in a recent Hemmings:
1. Daytona Parts Co. New Smryna Beach, FL
2. Carburetor King, Jacksonville FL (believe a Mass Market rebuilder)
3. Larry Isgro, Wantagh, NY
4. Benchwick Carburetor, Youngstown, OH
5. Joe Curto, NY (may be an old Stromberg/Solex guy)
6. David Bergeron, NH
7. The Old Carb Doctor, Nebo, NC
I have not used any of these outfits, caution is always advised. Dave S.

Thanks for the list! I did the 2280 myself and it wasn't too bad. The shafts didn't seem to have a lot of play so hopefully I don't find any leaks once I put.it on the car
