Ok question time.
I drive thru there twice a day and work 7 miles east.
I have heard about the accident that happened back then, but why ain't I seeing posted signs or hearing about this on local radio
No I didn't hear about it "back then"// or if I did, I wouldn't remember because I would have been all of a month short of 3 years old...I've heard about what happened back then, only within the last 10 years I've worked where I do.

I was wondering that myself. I live there and just found out this last weekend! But we keep to ourselves and don't do SPACEBOOK. There may be radio spots, but I have not heard them on WIQI. One of the local radio stations is having a booth there. I would have expected the advertising to be greater as the last one was wiped out by COVID. My other theory is they just want to keep it small like they have done with the town. One restaurant, one watering hole, one Casey's, one post office one FIREBALL FEST. No crime... no real problems. I'm surprised no one at the State Garage has mentioned it? My final theory was I would flood the car show with old Mopars! LOL

What restaurants do you have in town?
The Dragonfly Cafe...owned and operated by the mayor's wife. She is a wonderful gal. She has a health-conscious menu a little different than what you would normally find in a small central Illinois town. The other portion of the building is a Pilates exercise venue..."Now and Zen." (The restaurant portion may be closed due to the Covid epidemic) Blondies little tavern boast's an exceptionally good, battered cod with Cole slaw touched with a bit of horseradish and a side every Friday night. Around harvest she makes a mean Prime Rib dinner and always has a nice homemade desert. Generally, I have to take the dessert home as I can barely walk after eating the dinner...plus a couple of pilsners.
