cutout gaskets keep breaking

I have exhaust cutouts and since last summer, I've blown the gaskets on the block-off plates 3 times. Cheap gaskets? Over-tightening? (if i don't keep them tight, the bolts loosen up) Or just normal abuse?

autozone has soft aluminum ones that work for me.

What gaskets are you using? I like the Mr.Gasket Ultra-Seal's.

Mine are 2.5" and I'm using Jeg's brand right now. I just bought the Percy's metal ones at autozone today for $18. Summit was more expensive once you calculated shipping (and tax since I live in the same state).

Buy a set of remflex gaskets and be done.
