the new ( well, 2 years is still new to me ) Maverick will get 24-6 around town unless I run in Sport mode. then it acts like it has a 4.56 gear and 25' diameter tires. it does have AWD and trailer package. we took it to MITP. this is the longest and farthest it's been driven. we drove 902 miles to Tomah, WI to Red Wing, MN and then to Dubuque, Iowa. leaving there, we stopped in Oregon, IL and back home to Darien. Mileage was a crazy 39.8 MPG! I forgot to take it out of AWD and didn't use the cruise control. well, actually, I didn't use cruise and neither did my wife because she drove the whole time. I navigate and complain.

It is amazing how the new cars and trucks do on mileage. My Nissan Frontier truck V6 310 HP gets upper 20's to the best ever of 38 mpg.
Just did a 180+ drive with the average of 29.8 on a very windy day.It had a hard time to stay in 9th so I ran most of the way in 8th around 75 mph.
My 4 banger Nissan Versa gets a steady mpg of 36.6 on the same 180+ drive.

Yep, rented a Jeep Compass for a week to go skiing with my son this winter and got similar mpg .
Pretty crazy ! Much of that driving was 80-90 mph !

That's funny, my 1984 Nissan Sentra diesel got 49 mpg

My 06 Impala SS 5.3 fwd gets around 16-17 in town as I only live 8 miles from work. No highway just stop and go with a few back roads in between.

97 Thunderbird 4.6 automatic gets around 16-17 around town, (could be better but I put my foot in it regularly), and 27-28 highway. Wife's 2009 Escape 3.0 AWD is no better.

It was my dailey driver for 4+ years.

70 Ford F250 with a 460 swap got 7 mpg city, 11 highway. I drove 17 miles round trip to work and back and had two 20 something tanks.

the stock manual everything 1972 dart averaged 28 from houston to forestville, ny
and back at 65 mph
with some modern aero help i'd do 35 easy
at least thats the goal

reminds me of the 78 Chevy crew cab 454, 8 mpg with or without a trailer, loaded or unloaded. at least it was consistent. course at that time, it took $20 to fill each tank

dodge truck, d350, 4:56
can't pass a gas station,
but toss a chain around the station and bring it with
same 8 mpg
the 350 van rocked, got double digits (12 mpg)

ross perot "that slow suckin' sound"
no, that just the gas tank

Disappointed by the mileage my SS Camaro gets, both around town, and from AZ to CA. Maybe 15 around town, low 20s at 70 on the cruze control.
Not significantly better than my 2500hd diesel.
Haven't definitively check the box truck, but 10 mpg seems about right.
I REALLY would like something that gets 35 or so on the highway. I'd do the trip between AZ and CA more often.

My '13 Ram 3.6 gets 24-28 mpg per tank average, depending on the driving I do. Oh, I ran it at the track and it ran 15.2's as well.... LOL

My 11 ram hemi gets around 13 but never see highway
Audi a8 435hp get 24 highway
Don't drive enough to care

2015 Renegade 1.4t six speed manual- average MPG 34, highway 38.5

Wife's 2020 hyundai kona 2.0 eight speed auto- average MPG 38, highway 42

My daily driver is a 2013 Kia Soul - at least it has the 6 speed manual so it's not a total snooze. It gets around 28-30 mpg.

My 03 dakota reg cab 2wd, 3.9 v6 175hp and 5spd still gets 20 mpg if I keep it at 65mph at 449,000 miles. I add a qt of oil every 1000 miles though

My 2011 Camaro SS was about the same, maybe a touch better on the highway, but not even close to the 2013 Mustang GT I had, that one hit 30+ on the highway at 80 mph, never really checked it around town but probably 15-17 or so, 'cause of course I can't keep my foot out of anything around town. :steering:

Just got back from a 2000 mile road trip to Northern Washington.
2019 Challenger SXT 3.6 averaged 34 MPG at between 65 -70 MPH.
Very surprised it did that well. Usually get a little over 30 on the freeway…

My 88 454 dually with 4.10s and fuel injection could get 10 or 11 around town...... but towing the racecar got around 6.

My 78 superburban
400sb Chevy with a 142 cid B&m got 14mpg no mater what I did ..
Think it was 355s auto with 31s

2018 Honda is getting 37. Ive noticed a 10% in the last month or so. Heard about this as a theory that something changed with the fuel. Five guys in my office also saw a 10% increase.

2000 ranger gets 15.
